tessbaby.jpg (27694 bytes)Tess was our first GSP, and she has been a great one. She was whelped in April 2001, and she lived with us in a one bedroom apartment for her first year of life and did very well.

We did, however, have to move the furniture out of the way every once in a while for a good game of fetch.

Her pointing and bird hunting instincts have been very strong since very early, and she has always had a tremendous drive in the field.

Janet Clark campaigned Tess through her AKC Conformation champioship with ease, and we were proud owners when she finished nearly unbeaten.tess champion.jpg (48629 bytes) Tess easily completed her Junior Hunter title, and finished her Senior Hunter title in the Spring of 2005. She completed the difficult Master Hunter title in 2008.

Tess has primarily been used as an upland bird dog as my opportunities for duck hunting have been limited. She has a soft natural retrieve, and I have not had any reason to force break her. I have shot pheasants, quail, and prairie chicken with her the past couple of seasons, and she has done equally well with each of them. She has also proven herself as a tracking dog when searching for lost or injured game.

TessSH.jpg (37174 bytes) In the house she is very mild mannered and calm, but she turns it on when let outside. From very early in her life she has been easily trained and is the most attentive dog that I have been around. She has a great disposition to please, and in her litters she has passed that trait on to her puppies.

Tess has now been retired and gets to focus entirely on hunting and hanging out with us.
