Terms and Policies

Since our primary goal is to send our puppies to hunting and possibly show companion homes. As such, we offer incentives to those families who choose to enter their dog in AKC or NAVHDA events. If your dog achieves either AKC Champion, Field Champion/Amateur Field Champion, Senior or Master Hunt test title, AKC Companion dog title, or NAVDHA Natural Ability or Utility title then we will offer a discount on the next puppy purchased from our litters. A picture and copy of the title will be required for the discount.

Puppies will not be allowed to go to their new homes before 7 weeks of age for any reason, and we prefer that they go at 8 weeks of age. They will be handled daily and worked with until they go to their new homes. Puppies will receive dewormers at the ages of 2,4,6, and 8 weeks as well as basic vaccines at 6 and 8 weeks. Our clients will be expected to take their new puppy to their veterinarian within 72 hours of purchase to confirm general health and establish further vaccination schedules.

Deposits are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and we always maintain the right to reserve the first pick. Deposits will be $100, non-refundable unless the desired sex of puppy is not produced. We limit the number of deposits that we accept in order to decrease the chances that anyone is not able to receive a puppy. If an appropriate gender of puppy is not produced then we will either refund the deposit or place it toward the next litter depending on the purchaser's preference. While we cannot guarantee the color of puppies, there is generally a wide variety of color to please most people. It is important to make your deposit early as we do not breed more than one or two litters per year and they can be spoken for before the breeding even takes place. In cases where a purchaser has a change at home that prevents taking ownership of a new puppy we will offer that the deposit be placed toward a future litter of their choice, but deposits will not be refunded. This policy is in place to prevent potential buyers from carelessly placing deposits with multiple litters and then withdrawing their interest. Please consider carefully before putting down a deposit. Our commitment is to produce top quality dogs. We ask that your commitment be to carefully plan for your new puppy so that you can both be happy. Deposits may be sent in the form of personal check, cash, or money order. They will be held until we know that we have enough suitable puppies for each of our clients.

We do not require that you spay/neuter your dog, although we highly recommend it unless you plan to compete in AKC conformation events. If you plan to breed we ask that this not be done until the dog is 3 years of age and has been OFA certified as good or excellent. We also ask that potential breeders title their dog in both conformation and other events (field trials, hunt tests, agility trials, obedience trials). This partially ensures that the dogs has received some outside measure of their quality. In some instances we reserve the right to sell a puppy with a Limited Registration, but this will be discussed on a case by case basis.

If you become unable to take care of your dog we will take back any of our puppies regardless of the reason, and we ask that as a puppy owner that you maintain contact with us to let us know how the puppy is doing. We also request that you contact us before transferring ownership of any of our puppies.

All potential puppy owners will be required to complete the puppy questionairre, and we ask for your honest answers. This will enable us to screen new homes for our puppies to help ensure they are cared for properly, and it will also help us to more accurately match a puppy with a family based on temperament and family dynamics. We reserve the right to decline sale of a puppy to any individual if we feel it is in the best interest of the puppy.
